We were given a broken down space heater, very dangerous. The bathroom is an add on so it’s very cold. Stay away from the Keurig machine, looked moldy. The beds are super uncomfortable. The only good thing about this cabin was the location. Would not stay here again. Kevin Rosenberg2024-09-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Overall a nice property. Really need to have some type of heater in the bath room in the cabin. Was really disappointed that they closed the restaurant for the season two weeks earlier than rest of the property. One of the main reasons for booking this property was the on site restaurant. Cabins are beat up and we had to move three times so that we had an operating shower and it wasn't too noisy. Place feels burned out. Our group was a huge group of 16 people and we were really noisy and still the management didn’t tell us anything nor did they make us feel uncomfortable. They were really patient with our requests and did not say no to anything. We even used the hot springs and sauna and it was a beautiful experience. The temperature was hot and water was absolutely clean. We check in really late and yet the staff was accomadative. They even allowed us to check out late. The latest refurbishment to our two rooms was shoddy and unprofessionally done. The carpet is filthy and the hot water would scald a person if not careful. The floor to our room slanted down the hillside making one wonder about the foundation. On our last night we were kept awake from 11PM to 4AM from a staff assisted party 3 doors down from our rooms. The interesting looking restaurant on the property was closed. Signage for the property doesn't exist and the staff is poorly trained. I know we're not here for the hotel experience but, for the prices they charge you would expect something a little nicer. We stayed there for two nights at the very end of August so pretty late in the season. The good - the cabin was clean, fairly spacious, with a few nice touches like in-room coffee and a cooler outside with free ice in lieu of a fridge. Staff was friendly and helpful - bringing us extra pillows and coffee pods upon request. Plenty of hot water in a good shower. The restaurant was good and easy to get to. The rest - yes the floor was slanted, enough to make you wanna be careful but not enough to make it a problem really. The staff was young and you might wonder who’s in charge but they all seemed ready to help, making sure that some of the issues I’ve seen mentioned were addressed (shampoo, off hours phone, golf cart were all made very clear upon check in). As for value, yes it seems pricey compared to other cities in the lower 48 but looking around Denali it’s actually priced about right for what it is. Solid 3 stars overall. Would stay again. Restaurant is pricey and adds a service charge even to cash payers. However the staff is top notch. Lou Ann Pippenger2024-09-01Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We booked for 5 nights and paid in January for stay end of July. Upon arriving on the train early afternoon on Sunday we were fine waiting till check in at 4. The staff said they would hold our bags and call us when room was ready. We went down to the shops came back after 3 room still wasn’t available so we told them we would be in the restaurant at the top of the hill. Again they said they would call as soon as ready. We sat on the deck of the restaurant and could see people with their luggage going to the cabins below. At 5.30 we went down our luggage still sitting outside. No one seemed to know they were to call us or that we were even there. Our paperwork was sitting in a pile on a back desk. Our room was close proximity to the main check -in, was supposed to accommodate 4 people. The bed was about the size of a full size bed. The cabin was definitely on a downward slant. The shower when using never got warm. When we booked the reservations I asked about their WiFi cell coverage. I again checked two weeks prior to checking in as needed to be on a zoom mtg that week. I was assured that they had good reception. The tv wouldn’t work. Then trying WiFi/cell to get connected it was super slow and then would cut out. We went to the desk re the tv they came and tried and said they would send the maintenance person after an hour and going back he came down. He couldn’t get it fixed and walked out. One of the people at the front desk said. Could have told you would have issues (?). After a pretty much sleepless night, we decided to move for what we paid for and what we got and the expectations for our 5 days. We tried to get our money back for the other nights. We were also told that we didn’t give them a chance to fix the issues during normal business hours. Due to their cancellation policy was told no refund. We were totally disappointed, the mgr is also off on Mon /Tues. the day shift staff was very nice, the afternoon shift didn’t seem to have a clue. The maintenance person not helpful. It should also be noted that there are lots of steps if you are in a cabin not close to check in. The steps up the to the restaurant, the path down to the little shops restaurants at the bottom. Steep. They do have a shuttle to pick you up at the train station take you to the park opening and other places. The shuttle drivers were very nice. 1 night was more than enough if you pre-pay make sure you know what you are getting. The price does not equal the experience. Iowa Dentist2024-08-31Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Super convenient place to stay when visiting Denali National Park. There are lots of shops and restaurants very close. The bed was very comfortable. These are individual cabins, and they are old. There is a new coat of paint outside but pretty shabby inside but clean. There is a TV, internet, a bathroom and hot water. There is a cooler and chairs out front of each cabin and they provide ice. Which for this area of Alaska is pretty good. We had our own car, but they also offered shuttle service. It's safe, and the team that works there is very attentive and pleasant. The view every morning was Amazing! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend for purposes of going to Denali. Liz Turner2024-08-27Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed how the cabins are cozy, and nestled amongst the trees.
