Getting Around Denali

  • I’M ARRIVING BY TRAIN, HOW WILL I GET TO THE CROW’S NEST?
    When you book your reservation please indicate which train you are arriving on, there are only 2 choices, departing Anchorage or departing Fairbanks. There is only one train a day from each city. When you get off the train in Denali simply look for our driver holding a Crow's Nest sign and they will assist with your bags and drive you directly to reception. Tip: If you forgot to request a shuttle upon booking call us in advance and we will pick you up.
  • DO YOU OFFER A SHUTTLE? WHERE DOES IT GO?
    Yes. We offer a complimentary shuttle for registered guests operating daily from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, upon request. The shuttle services: Denali National Park (Visitor Center, Train Station, Bus Depot, Bus Stops) Downtown Denali / Boardwalk area 
  • DOES THE SHUTTLE RUN ALL DAY?
    The shuttle runs hourly from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with brief midday pauses: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM These pauses allow us to safely accommodate Alaska Railroad traffic.
  • CAN I WALK TO MY PARK BUS TOUR?
    Yes, you can. The park's entrance is about a mile or a 20 minute walk. It’s a long day on the bus and many people prefer to walk. You also have the option of walking one way and taking the Dine Denali Shuttle back. As a Crow's Nest guest you will receive a free pass.
  • HOW CAN I GET AROUND DENALI?
    We offer picks-ups from the train station and select Yes, we offer a shuttle. shuttle service around the area. Please request your complementary train pick-up at the time of your booking. For additional shuttle services, our front desk staff is happy to answer your questions. Most tours you book will pick you up at our property. If you have any questions about tours, please inquire with our front desk agents.

Lodging Questions

  • WILL YOU CLEAN MY ROOM EVERY DAY?
    **Room refreshes are only upon request. Our staff will continue their extensive cleaning and sanitization procedures between guests. If you would like your room refreshed, please let the front desk know before 10am that morning. Room refreshes are completed after 4pm.
  • WHERE DO I PARK?
    There is a guest only parking lot by the front desk. We have recently expanded the lot to be sure there is sufficient parking for everyone.
  • ARE THE CABINS RIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY?
    No, the cabins are well above the road on Sugarloaf Mountain above the Denali Park Salmon Bake (The Bake).
  • WHY DO YOU SAY YOU ARE CONVENIENTLY LOCATED?
    Basically there are 2 roads in Denali: The 90 mile Park Road to Wonder Lake and Denali, which you can only take by bus, and The Parks Highway. We are located on the Parks Highway, which is the only road between Anchorage and Fairbanks. We are less than 1 mile from the Park Road on the South end of where all the shops and restaurants are located. If you stay in an outlying area you will spend your whole trip waiting for shuttle buses. If you stay with us you have access to our the local shuttle, use one of our complementary mountain bikes, or walk to everything.
  • WILL I BE COLD IN YOUR CABINS?
    All of our cozy cabins come with their own heat source and adjustable thermostats.
  • CAN I MODIFY MY RESERVATION AFTER BOOKING?
    Yes, if you booked directly with us. Please contact us with your confirmation number, and we’ll be happy to assist with date changes, cabin upgrades, or availability questions.

Food & Drink

  • CAN I DRINK YOUR WATER?
    You can drink our water, but the water in the Denali area is very hard. It’s ok to brush your teeth in our cabins, but for drinking water we suggest you fill your water bottles up at our restaurant which has special filters.
  • WHERE CAN I GET BREAKFAST?
    Right here at tAKo Alaskan Cantina. Hearty breakfast burritos and flavorful breakfast tAKos may be enjoyed while overlooking the national park.  Make it easy and add a breakfast voucher to your stay! You may do so at the time of booking or during check-in. We offer a grab and go option. Our front desk staff is happy to inform you of the current selection. Please order your breakfast at the front desk by 7pm the night before. It will be available for pick-up at the front desk in the morning at 6am.
  • WHAT IS THE RESTAURANT ON PROPERTY?
    tAKo, Alaskan Cantina is a bold and adventurous dining experience that fuses the untamed spirit of Alaska with the best of Mexican flavors. You've landed where Alaska-Mex was forged. Get adventurous with Alaska Octopus al Pastor or go tried and true with Carne Asada. The best part? The bar serves premium cocktails, so you'll be in good spirits! Luckily, the Crow's Nest is in the heart of Denali's shopping and dining area, so if you need guidance on additional restaurants, our friendly staff can assist you with planning your dining in Denali.
  • DO MANY PLACES OFFER VEGETARIAN/VEGAN OPTIONS? WHAT ABOUT FOOD FOR THOSE WITH DIETARY RESTRICTIONS?
    Times have changed and there are now many places that offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten-sensitive, dairy free, and other options. tAKo Alaskan Cantina has many options and we can direct you to several other restaurants in the area that are accommodating as well.
  • DO YOU TAKE RESTAURANT RESERVATIONS?
    tAKo Alaska Cantina is first-come, first-served and does not take reservations. If you need assistance with other restaurants, please let us know.
  • IF I'M NOT A HOTEL GUEST, MAY I EAT AT YOUR RESTAURANT? DO YOU OFFER TRANSPORTATION THERE?
    Yes, our restaurant is open to the public. Transportation may be requested by calling the restaurant directly at 907-683-3463 and is subject to availability.
